An extensive suite of enhancements to the most innovative Library Automation Solution have been introduced in L4U Platinum 2.0. These enhancements make this award winning Library Automation System even better adapted to the specific needs of Patrons and Librarians.

L4U Platinum 2.0 introduced a number of features that deliver resources directly into the hands of Patrons while making it easier to centralize control of all resources and focusing on bringing Patrons and reading together in a way that is fun and easy.

These enhancements are specifically designed to meet the needs of Patrons and Librarians. More Libraries are moving to centralized administrative functions and want a solution that will meet the needs of the youngest Patron but be sophisticated enough for the research guru. We're improving L4U to meet their needs, both today and tomorrow.

L4U Platinum 2.0 for the Patron

Choose from up to five different interface options designed for all patron demographics.
Additional record details can be seen simply by hovering the mouse over the item.
Allows for automatic spell checking in the search making it quicker for the patron to find the resources they are looking for.
Perform searches from any page in the L4U iPAC.
Provide patrons with alternative search suggestions based upon their original search, giving them more resources to choose from.
When Patrons do Author searches, L4U analyzes the author searched on and can make suggestions for other Authors that have similar subject matter.
Results displays with features such as 'Jump to page' and 'Customizable number of results per page' allow patrons to quickly navigate their way through their search results.
Patrons can view a detailed summary of their activity, Reserved Items ready for pick up, Items out and/or overdue, Items on reserve and much more in their 'My Profile' page.
iPAC settings available to the patron can be saved for the next time they login.

L4U Platinum 2.0 for the Librarian

Along with full Circulation, libraries can perform full client management via any supported web browser.
Manage and convert your existing ISBN to support ISBN 13 making it easier for copy cataloguing.
L4U MARC Records can be rebuilt with L4U's SmartMARC™ technology. Easily rebuild all or parts of the MARC Records either on individual records, subsets of records or the entire database!
Each time changes are made to the L4U/MARC records, L4U creates a "MARC Snapshot" of the MARC record so it can easily reverted be back to in case of error. Each L4U Record contains up to 3 MARC Snapshots being, the Original MARC Record, a User Saved MARC Snapshot and an Automatic MARC Snapshot.
iPAC Skins can now be set and changed from inside L4U without any outside technical assistance, and Patrons can change skins on the fly directly from within the iPAC.
Multiple iPAC Customization settings allow for the Library overall and/or specific Homerooms to have their iPAC experiences individually customized.
Administrators can easily configure the iPAC to force the patron to login prior to searching.
