Benefits of L4U iPAC

The L4U iPAC and it's various skins have been built using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and Web Standards based design. The benefits of which include:

  • Faster Download Times! CSS based web pages have considerably less source code than regularly styled web pages. Furthermore, the methods by which browsers read and display CSS based web pages is generally quicker and more efficient. This means that CSS based websites download quicker.
  • Greater Accessibility! Over recent years the amount of hand held internet compatible devices has grown massively. Along with this it may soon become law that any website offering a service will need to be accessible by those with disabilities. Adopting the new web standards is a huge leap towards having an accessible-to-all website. Content can now be read in any browser, phone, PDA, or by those using assistive software.
  • Reduced Markup! Web pages which are CSS based have much less code than table driven web pages. Less code means faster loading pages. Less code also means more server capacity, which in turn means less money needed for server space and bandwidth.
  • Modifications and Customizations are much easier! CSS separates the content elements of a webpage from design elements. This means that by altering just one CSS file (which is applied across your entire website) you can easily and effortless make a range of alterations to the appearance of your website, without having to go through the time consuming process of altering individual web pages.

My students say our new L4U is FUN and easy, and I certainly
agree with them. The clear and attractive screens of L4U help keep the program user-friendly, and that simplifies procedures.
